First Capital Connect Railways operates trains over the UK’s busiest rail network between London, Brighton, Bedford, Peterborough, Cambridge and King's Lynn.

First Capital Connect Airport Train Link provides fast, convenient and well connected direct links to London Gatwick and London Luton airports.

First Capital Connect runs services from Bedford to Brighton via the City of London, and from Peterborough and Cambridge to London Kings Cross via Stevenage; it also operates services from Sutton and Wimbledon in south London to London and Luton. Key stations on the Bedford to Brighton route are Luton, Luton Airport Parkway, St Albans, East Croydon and Gatwick Airport.

Along the core Bedford to Brighton via London route, services run every 15 minutes, providing a fast and frequent service that connects the City of London (served by Farringdon, City Thameslink and London Blackfriars stations) with two of Britain's busiest airports at Gatwick and Luton and the international rail hub at London St Pancras International (First Capital Connect services serve a new underground station right beneath St Pancras proper).

First Capital Connect Railways operates trains over the UK’s busiest rail network between London, Brighton, Bedford, Peterborough, Cambridge and King's Lynn.

First Capital Connect combines the services on the cross London Thames link railway line between Brighton and Bedford with the services along the East Coast Main Line from Kings Cross and Moorgate to Peterborough, Cambridge and Kings Lynn that was formerly operated by WAGN, often referred to as Great Northern.

First Capital Connect Airport Link provides fast, convenient and well connected direct links to London Gatwick and London Luton airports.

Gatwick Airport Link train service offers four daytime services an hour and hourly services throughout the night. Average comute time is just 35 minutes with direct train services to the South Terminal.

Luton Airport Link train service offers trains six times an hour at peak times and hourly services throughout the night. Average commute time is just 40 minutes with the bus interchange to terminal taking 7/8 minutes.

First Capital Connect is currently working in partnership with Transport for London, Southern and Southeastern train operating company, to improve services and train stations in and around London as part of the Thameslink Programme.

About First Capital Connect

First Capital Connect (FCC) is a passenger train operating company in England that began operations on the National Rail network on 1 April 2006.

First Capital Connect is owned by FirstGroup and combines the service on the cross-London Thameslink railway line between Brighton and Bedford with services along the East Coast Main Line from King's Cross and Moorgate to Peterborough, Cambridge, and King's Lynn formerly operated by WAGN.

The Thameslink and WAGN franchises were amalgamated in preparation for the Thameslink Programme (formerly Thameslink 2000), which will increase capacity on the Thameslink route and allow trains from King's Lynn, Cambridge and Peterborough to run via Thameslink.

First Group is in the process of overhauling the trains with new liveries and refreshed interiors as well as an £8 million programme of upgrades for several major stations. The full term of the franchise is for nine years until 2015, but this depends on meeting performance targets at the end of the fourth year, which will give an automatic two-year extension, and an extension for up to three years after the sixth year at the discretion of the DfT.

For groups of 3, 4 or 5 passengers travelling during the Peak, the ‘Anytime Small Group’ fare offers a 25% discount off the individual ‘Anytime Return’ fare.
